Special Arrangements - North and South Courses Commencement of Projects
The Golf Course will be undertaking two projects between November 2022 and mid 2024. These projects are the replacement of the irrigation system and rehabilitation of the underground storm water drainage system (“SWD”) at the North and South Courses.
The replacement and rehabilitation of these systems are critical to the long term conditioning of the North and South Courses. Whilst every effort will be taken to minimise disruption to golfers throughout the projects, the projects will be visible and effect the mode of play between November 2022 and March 2024.
The irrigation replacement project will be the more disruptive of the two projects and requires for one hole at each of the North and South golf courses to be taken out of play for a period of up to one month on a hole by hole basis, until the entire irrigation system has been replaced at each of the North and South golf courses.
To provide for eighteen holes of play, a par three will be selected for play twice by golfers (two balls played from tee to green). The par three selected for two ball play will change periodically depending on the project progress against programme. Golfers will be informed and temporary score cards provided to suit these periodic changes.
The Golf Course has been working closely with the Hong Kong Golf Association to provide temporary score cards, including temporary course ratings, slope ratings and par for each of the hole closure periods. This has been coordinated in order to provide golfers with accurate course handicap tables and handicap adjustments according with the World Handicap System (WHS) and the golf course played. Details on course set up will be available through separate notices through the project period.
Management apologize for the inconvenience caused and thank all customers for their understanding on the need for replacement and rehabilitation of these systems for the long term health and conditioning of the North and South Courses.

World Handicap System
The Hong Kong Golf Association (HKGA) has launched the new World Handicap System (WHS) in January 2020. The WHS was developed by the USGA and R&A and will provide golfers with a unified and consistent measure of playing ability, with handicaps calculated the same way wherever they are in the world.
New Slope Rating Tables
With the new WHS the KSC Slope Rating Tables have been updated by the HKGA and are available under the golf section on our website at www.kscgolf.org.hk, on notice boards at the Golf Course and at the starting tees of each golf course. Please refer to these tables to determine the correct handicap for the course and tees you are playing from.
Monthly Handicaps
As handicaps through the new GHIN system will show daily updates, you should only use the handicap listed as of the 1st day of each calendar month when playing within that month. This is a decision made by the HKGA whereby all clubs and courses in Hong Kong should follow.
Further information on the new WHS can be found at the WHS website www.whs.com and the handicapping section of the HKGA website www.hkga.com.
